Royal Red Robin
The burger you order when you cannot decide between breakfast and dinner. A sunny-side-up fried egg sits on top of bacon and American cheese, and the moment you cut in, the yolk runs down into everything and becomes the best sauce on the plate. Get the egg cooked soft, or you lose the whole point.
The story
The burger carries the chain’s name, and the name comes from a song. Red Robin began in 1940 as Sam’s Tavern in Seattle, on the corner of Fuhrman and Eastlake Avenues. Its owner, Samuel Caston, sang in a barbershop quartet and was often heard singing a song about a red robin, so in 1942 he renamed the place Sam’s Red Robin Tavern. Gerry Kingen bought it in 1969, dropped “Sam’s” and turned the tavern into a burger restaurant, eventually offering 28 burgers.

About Red Robin
Red Robin is the burger chain you sit down in, with a server, a booth and a birthday song if someone at the table admits to it. It grew out of an old Seattle tavern that started selling gourmet burgers in 1969, and the whole identity rests on two ideas: big, loaded burgers, and Bottomless Steak Fries that keep coming as long as you keep eating.
Roughly 500 restaurants across the United States and Canada.
