This page lists what burgerman.org stores in your browser and why. It is written to be read, not to be scrolled past. Last updated 4 September 2026.

What a cookie is here

Two different things are covered by the word. Some data is stored by the site itself in your browser and never leaves it — your ingredient list, for example. The rest is set by Google so that advertising and analytics work. Only the second kind needs your consent, and none of it is set until you give it.

Strictly necessary

These cannot be switched off, because without them the site cannot do what you asked it to do.

Supabase session cookies — keep you signed in. Set only after you log in, cleared when you sign out.
Consent record — remembers the choice you made in the consent message, so you are not asked again on every page.
bm_pantry — the ingredients you ticked as a guest. Stored in localStorage, never sent anywhere, and moved into your account if you sign in.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 tells us which recipes people actually open and where they leave. IP addresses are truncated before they reach us. The script is not loaded at all until you agree to it: refuse, and nothing from Analytics is requested or stored.

Advertising

Google AdSense pays for the site. With your consent it may set cookies to limit how often you see the same ad and to make ads more relevant. Without consent, Google Consent Mode blocks advertising storage: ads may still appear, but they are not personalised and nothing is stored for that purpose.

Changing your mind

The consent message is provided by Google and is certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You can reopen it and change any answer at any time:

You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser settings, which resets everything described above. Blocking all cookies will sign you out and lose your saved ingredient list.
