The Hamburdog
A burger with a hot dog laid across it, plus cheddar, bacon, jalapeños, fried onion strings and ketchup. It is a novelty, and the menu knows it, but the split works better than you would think: the snap of the frank against the soft patty. Eat it with both hands and a plan, because the hot dog wants to roll off.
The story
The hamburger-plus-hot-dog has been invented more than once. In Western Australia, Mark Murray came up with his hamdog in 2004: a beef patty cut in two with a frankfurter between the halves, and in 2009 he received a US design patent for the bun shaped to hold it. In February 2005 Chandler Goff, who owned a bar in Decatur, Georgia, made a different one, a hot dog wrapped in half a pound of beef, deep-fried on a hoagie bun and topped with an egg, and took it to the Indiana State Fair.

About MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes
Rich Hicks and Todd Istre opened the first MOOYAH in Plano, Texas, in 2007, part of the wave of “better burger” chains of the late 2000s. The name, the company says, is how a cow would shout “Booyah!”, and the whole brand talks in that tone. The first restaurant abroad opened in Dubai in 2013 as the chain’s fiftieth, and the hundredth opened in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 2016. In 2017 the founders sold to two private equity firms, Gala Capital Partners and Balmoral Funds.
Around a hundred restaurants in the United States and Canada, plus franchises in the Gulf states.
