The Vegan
A Dr. Praeger’s black bean patty in a lettuce wrap with avocado, sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions, tomato and barbecue sauce. It is properly vegan, as the chain’s FAQ confirms, and the mushrooms and onions give it more weight than most vegan options at burger chains. The barbecue sauce is sweet; ask for less if you prefer it savoury.

About MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes
Rich Hicks and Todd Istre opened the first MOOYAH in Plano, Texas, in 2007, part of the wave of “better burger” chains of the late 2000s. The name, the company says, is how a cow would shout “Booyah!”, and the whole brand talks in that tone. The first restaurant abroad opened in Dubai in 2013 as the chain’s fiftieth, and the hundredth opened in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 2016. In 2017 the founders sold to two private equity firms, Gala Capital Partners and Balmoral Funds.
Around a hundred restaurants in the United States and Canada, plus franchises in the Gulf states.
