About
Bob comes up with this one and Jimmy Pesto steals it for a pizza version before the episode is over. Twenty small meatballs stand in for the patty, and nothing holds them in place except the bun and whatever grip the mayonnaise can manage.
The show never gives a filling, so the meat here is the same beef Bob uses for everything else, rolled small and handled as little as possible. Roll them by shaking the pan rather than turning them with a spatula and they brown evenly on every side. Losing several of them on the first bite is not a mistake in the build. That is simply what the dish does, and it is most of the fun.

- Ground beef14 oz ground beef (80/20)
- Burger bun2 large round buns
- MayonnaiseMayonnaise
- Cheddar2 slices cheddar
- TomatoTomato
- Romaine lettuceGreen leaf lettuce
- Vegetable oilOil
- ButterButter
- SaltSalt
- Black pepperBlack pepper
Recipe
- 1Roll twenty balls of about half an ounce each, handling the meat as little as possible. Chill them for 20 minutes.
- 2Fry over medium-high heat in oil for 6 minutes, rolling them by shaking the pan rather than turning them with a spatula. Salt and pepper them in the pan.
- 3Toast the buns cut side down in butter. Leave them whole: the episode shows no hollow cut into the bread.
- 4Build straight from the frame: mayonnaise on the bottom bun, meatballs in a single layer, cheese onto the hot meat, then tomato, lettuce and the top bun. Expect to lose several meatballs on the first bite. That is the dish.
