Peter works a drive-thru window under a name tag reading Lester and finds out through it that Lois is cheating on him. It is the saddest scene in the show to end up in a food video, and the burger is genuinely good.

The build is two thin patties with the cheese laid on one and the other pressed straight on top, so the cheddar ends up welded in the middle instead of sitting on the surface. Everything else is from the frame, including the single pickle placed dead centre — either animator laziness or fast-food thrift, and I have decided not to correct it. Mayo, lettuce, two slices of tomato, the double patty. Eight point seven. Just a man with a broken heart making a perfect burger.

Cheddar1 slice cheddar
Burger bun1 burger bun
Mayonnaise2 tbsp mayonnaise

Recipe

Season both thin patties and cook them on a hot pan, 90 seconds a side.

Lay the cheddar on one patty and press the second patty straight onto it, so the cheese melts between them rather than on top.

Toast the bottom bun and spread the mayonnaise on it.

Add the lettuce, then the two slices of tomato.

Put exactly one pickle slice in the middle. The episode is very clear about this.

Set the welded double patty on top and close it.
