About
Stan gets his jaw broken while queuing for this, buys it anyway, forces his mouth open and passes out. The menu behind him calls it The Mountain, which turns out to be accurate rather than boastful.
I built it frame by frame from the episode: ham on the bottom, cheese fanned along the whole length so it hangs over the edges, four onion rings laid in a line, roast beef over that, ketchup poured on without restraint, and a pile of lettuce on top. Making the rings from scratch is the part worth the effort — bought ones go soft under the ketchup within a minute, and the crunch is the only texture in an otherwise soft stack. Seven and a half, and no, still not worth a broken jaw.
Ingredients

- Ciabatta1 ciabatta roll
- Ham6 slices ham
- American cheese4 slices American cheese
- Ground beef6 slices roast beef
- White onion1 large onion, cut into 4 thick rings
- All-purpose flour4 tbsp plain flour
- Egg1 egg, beaten
- Breadcrumbs60 g breadcrumbs
- Iceberg lettuceIceberg lettuce
- KetchupKetchup
- Vegetable oilOil, for frying
- SaltSalt
Recipe
- 1Separate four thick onion rings. Pass each through seasoned flour, then beaten egg, then breadcrumbs, and press the crumbs on firmly.
- 2Fry the rings at 180°C until deep golden, about 3 minutes, and drain them on paper.
- 3Split the ciabatta. It has to be sturdy: a soft bun collapses under this stack.
- 4Lay six slices of ham on the bottom half, overlapping.
- 5Fan the cheese out along the whole length so it hangs off both edges, exactly as it sits in the episode.
- 6Line the four onion rings up down the middle.
- 7Add six slices of roast beef over the rings.
- 8Pour ketchup across the top — the scene is not shy about it — then pile on the lettuce and press the lid down.
