Garden Gobbler

The low-carb choice: an all-natural turkey patty served in a crunchy lettuce wrap instead of a bun, with pepper Jack, avocado-cilantro slaw, cucumber, pickled red onions, tomato and garlic aioli. It is fresh and crunchy rather than heavy, which is rare on this menu. Lettuce wraps fall apart, so eat it over the plate.

Scott Slater opened the first Slater’s 50/50 in Anaheim Hills, California, around 2009 with one idea so simple it is surprising nobody had built a restaurant on it before: a burger patty made from half ground beef and half ground bacon. The bacon is not on the burger, it is the burger.

A small chain based in Southern California, with a few locations in other states.
