Honest
The burger the chain is named after. Beef with smoked bacon, mature cheddar, red onion relish, pickles and lettuce. The sweet, jammy relish is what makes it: it takes the place of ketchup and gives the whole thing a very British, pub-style flavour. With the rosemary chips it is the definitive Honest order.
The story
London’s burger boom had a clear shape: street stalls and pop-ups in 2009 and 2010, permanent restaurants a couple of years later, and a city that stopped treating a burger as pub food. Honest Burgers started in that first wave and opened its first site in Brixton Village, a covered market that was being rescued from redevelopment by exactly this kind of small trader. The chips came from the same thinking — rosemary salt, cooked properly, served with everything, and never treated as a side.

Tom Barton and Phil Eeles founded Honest Burgers in 2009 and grew it into one of the best-known names in London’s burger boom. The restaurants are casual and the menu is short, built around a handful of beef burgers alongside chicken and plant-based options.
