Beyond Meat Burger
The plant-based option, built like a classic burger: a Beyond Meat patty with lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion and burger sauce. It is straightforward rather than clever, and it means a table of meat eaters and vegans can all order the same kind of thing.
The story
Burger & Lobster’s menu was built on two things, beef and lobster, so its meat-free burger comes from outside: Beyond Meat, the American company founded by Ethan Brown in 2009. Its Beyond Burger launched in May 2016 as a plant-based patty meant to be cooked and served exactly like beef, made largely from pea protein with beet juice for colour. When Beyond Meat went public in May 2019 its shares rose 163 per cent on the first day.

About Burger & Lobster
Burger & Lobster opened on Clarges Street in Mayfair in 2011, founded by Misha and Roman Zelman, Ilya Demichev and George Bukhov-Weinstein. The pitch was almost a dare: no menu and no specials board, just a choice between a burger and a whole lobster, both at the same £20 price.
Restaurants in London and other UK cities, plus New York and branches across Asia and the Gulf.
