Whataburger Patty Melt
A burger dressed up as a diner sandwich. Two patties, melted cheese, grilled onions and a creamy pepper sauce go between slices of thick buttered Texas toast instead of a bun. It is soft, rich and a little peppery, and it has a following that borders on devotional. The grilled onions are the soul of it.
