Ebi Filet-O (えびフィレオ)
Japan’s shrimp burger. The patty is a breaded cutlet of whole shrimp pieces with a coarse, crunchy coating, served with lettuce and a peppery “aurora” sauce, the pink mix of mayonnaise and ketchup that Japanese cooks put on fried seafood. Springy rather than flaky, it has nothing in common with the Filet-O-Fish except the shape of the name.
The story
The Ebi Filet-O arrived on 28 October 2005 as a limited-time item in a wider menu change and has since become a permanent part of the Japanese board, sold doubled on the evening menu as well.

About McDonald's
Nobody sells more burgers. McDonald’s began as a single drive-in run by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California, and became a burger machine in 1948, when the brothers threw out most of the menu and rebuilt the kitchen like a production line. Ray Kroc, a salesman who sold them milkshake mixers, started franchising it in 1955 and later bought the brothers out.
