Tower Burger
A chicken burger with a hash brown inside it, and one of those combinations that seems obvious once you have tried it. The crispy fillet, a golden potato hash brown, cheese and salad stack up tall, so every bite has two kinds of crunch. It is heavy and deeply satisfying, and it inspires real loyalty in the countries that have it.
The story
Putting a hash brown inside a chicken burger sounds like a late-night invention, and in a sense it was: the Tower was built for the British market, where KFC has competed with chip shops as much as with other burger chains. The extra layer does something structural rather than decorative — a disc of fried potato between the fillet and the sauce keeps the bread from going soft. It has been on UK menus long enough that a whole generation there considers it normal.
