Mac ’N Cheese Zinger

The creamy pasta cools the spicy fillet and adds a completely different texture, and the combination has shown up on KFC menus in more than one country as a limited special. The story
Macaroni and cheese reached America through a president. Thomas Jefferson ate pasta in Italy, had a macaroni machine shipped home, and served macaroni with cheese at a state dinner in 1802, after which it spread through American cooking and eventually became the country’s default comfort food. That is why a scoop of it on a fried chicken burger reads as home cooking rather than as a stunt, and why the combination keeps coming back to KFC menus as a limited run.
