Photo: Chick-fil-ASpicy Deluxe Sandwich
The spicy fillet with lettuce, tomato and pepper jack cheese. The cheese adds its own kick, and the fresh toppings balance the heat. It is the most complete sandwich on the menu and the one to order if you want everything at once.
The story
Chick-fil-A spent decades selling essentially one chicken sandwich, and adding heat was a big step for the chain. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich launched nationwide on 7 June 2010, and from day one it came in two forms: the plain sandwich with pickles, and a deluxe version with lettuce, tomato and Pepper Jack cheese, priced at $3.59. The spicy deluxe has stayed on the menu ever since, and in 2021 the chain extended the idea to a grilled spicy chicken sandwich.

About Chick-fil-A
S. Truett Cathy opened a diner called the Dwarf Grill in Hapeville, Georgia, in 1946. Fifteen years later he found a pressure fryer that could cook a boneless chicken breast as fast as a hamburger, and the sandwich he built around it became Chick-fil-A. Every restaurant still closes on Sundays, a rule rooted in the founder’s Christian beliefs.
Around 3,000 restaurants across the United States, all closed on Sundays.
