Impossible Whopper

The burger that dragged plant-based meat into the mainstream. The Impossible patty goes through the same flame broiler as the beef, and under all the Whopper toppings the difference is genuinely hard to spot. Worth noting for strict vegetarians: unless you ask otherwise, it is cooked on the same broiler and comes with regular mayo.

Burger King tested the Impossible Whopper in St. Louis in April 2019 and put it on menus across the US that summer. It was the first time a plant-based burger was sold at that scale by a major fast-food chain, and it pushed rivals to follow with their own versions.
