Grand
The Quarter Pounder under another name. A thick beef patty with cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup and mustard. It is one of the burgers that transferred most smoothly from the old menu, and it tastes very close to what it replaced.
The story
The Grand is the Quarter Pounder that Al Bernardin, a McDonald’s franchisee in Fremont, California, created in 1971, and its Russian name is older than Vkusno i Tochka. Because the pound is not used in Russia, McDonald’s sold it there as the Royal Cheeseburger and in 2016 renamed it the Grand Cheeseburger. When McDonald’s left Russia in 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine, it sold its restaurants to its Siberian licensee Alexander Govor, and the new chain opened on 12 June 2022 in the same buildings. The Grand kept its name, one of the few burgers on the menu that did not need a new one.

About Vkusno i Tochka
McDonald’s left Russia in 2022 and sold its restaurants to Alexander Govor, who had been a McDonald’s licensee in Siberia. The chain reopened on 12 June 2022 under the name Vkusno i Tochka, roughly “Tasty, full stop”, in the same buildings, with much of the same staff and kitchen equipment.
