Harlem Classic

  • Signature

The base burger: two patties of a proprietary Pat LaFrieda blend with homemade pickles, onions, special sauce and American cheese on a buttered and toasted Martin’s potato roll. A textbook New York smash burger.

About Harlem Shake

  • United States
  • Since 2013
  • $

Jelena Pasic, who grew up in a small Croatian town, first visited Harlem in 2003 and kept coming back, falling for the neighbourhood’s history, architecture and sense of community. She dreamed of opening a local diner that would honour Harlem rather than change it, and in 2013 Harlem Shake opened its doors, designed as a love letter to the area’s culture.

Two restaurants: the original in Harlem and one in Brooklyn.
