Serious Eats
The food site behind The Burger Lab and A Hamburger Today, with Kenji’s ultra-smashed burger.
About Serious Eats
Serious Eats is the food website founded in New York in 2006, known for recipes tested down to the variable and for columns that shaped how a generation of home cooks think about burgers. Kenji López-Alt’s Burger Lab and Food Lab columns ran there, as did A Hamburger Today, a blog devoted entirely to hamburgers.
The YouTube channel is small but reaches back to the beginning of online burger video. It hosts a 2006 clip from George Motz’s Hamburger America documentary at Dyer’s in Memphis, a visit to White Manna in Hackensack to watch its onion sliders being made, butcher Pat LaFrieda on his favourite burger blend, and Tony Maws making the Craigie on Main burger in Cambridge. Kenji’s own videos cover the ultra-smashed burger, a Food Lab episode on cheeseburgers, grilling tips for better burgers and a kimchi-brined fried chicken sandwich.
