About Wahlburgers
Chef Paul Wahlberg and his actor brothers Mark and Donnie opened the first Wahlburgers in Hingham, Massachusetts, in 2011, next to Paul’s restaurant Alma Nove. The name is borrowed: the family licensed “Wahlburger” from Tom Wahl’s, an older restaurant in upstate New York.
A reality series about the family and the restaurant, also called Wahlburgers, ran on A&E for ten seasons from 2014 and earned an Emmy nomination. The show drove fast expansion to more than a hundred locations, followed by a sharp contraction. The menu stays close to Paul’s home-cooking style, with a house Wahl Sauce on most burgers.
Around 30 restaurants in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, down from more than a hundred in 2023.
