5.5BM score
About
This is the sandwich everyone remembers from Scooby-Doo: a stack so tall it can’t possibly fit in anyone’s mouth. So I built it for real. A 27-inch baguette, five cheeses, six kinds of deli meat and more than 4 lb of meat in total, layered fourteen high.
The order starts with cheddar, ham, American cheese, salami and provolone, then keeps going through turkey, mortadella, pastrami and roast beef with the rest of the cheese in between. Mustard and ketchup go on at the end. The honest problem is that at full size it’s impossible to eat as is, and that’s where the 5.5 comes from. Make the same thing as a normal-size sandwich, though, and it’s great. Treat the giant one as the show and the small one as lunch.
Ingredients
- 1 baguette, 27 inches (about 70 cm)
- Cheddar, about 150 g
- American cheese, about 150 g
- Provolone, about 150 g
- 2 more cheeses, about 150 g each
- Ham, about 310 g
- Salami, about 310 g
- Turkey, about 310 g
- Mortadella, about 310 g
- Pastrami, about 310 g
- Roast beef, about 310 g
- Mustard
- Ketchup
Recipe
- 1Slice the baguette open.
- 2Start stacking: cheddar, ham, American cheese, salami, provolone.
- 3Keep going with the rest of the meats and cheeses until you have 14 layers.
- 4Add mustard and ketchup and close it.
- 5At this size it’s impossible to eat as is. For a sandwich you can actually eat, build the same layers at normal size. That one’s great.
