Rekas Burgers
Malmö’s smash-burger favourite, with beef from its own butcher’s and a place among the world’s best burgers.
About Rekas Burgers
Rekas Burgers opened its first restaurant in southern Malmö in 2019 and soon became a local favourite. It has since grown to three restaurants in Malmö and nearby Lund, and its reputation has spread well beyond Sweden: it has won international burger competitions, cooked at events in Spain, Germany and Dubai, and draws burger fans who travel to Skåne specially to eat there.
A large part of the secret is the beef, which comes through the company’s own butcher’s shop. The patties are smashed hard on the griddle for a deep, salty, peppery crust while staying juicy, and served on brioche with Cheddar and the house Rekas sauce. In 2026 the ranking The World’s Best Burgers placed Rekas 23rd in the world.
The menu is long and playful, from a simple single cheeseburger to the four-patty Fatboy, with plenty of heat: fried jalapeños, pickled chilli and chilli mayonnaise turn up on many burgers. There is a halloumi-style grilling-cheese burger for vegetarians, and one burger shares its initials with the local football club, Malmö FF.
Three restaurants in Malmö and Lund, in the Skåne region of southern Sweden.
