Salt Hank

Salt Hank is a sandwich and burger cook who built a large following on short-form video before bringing longer episodes to YouTube in 2022. His series Side of Salt began in his mom’s kitchen, with his editor Jimmy behind the camera and a running joke that she would throw them out if he kept swearing. Later episodes moved to a houseboat kitchen. He sells his own seasonings, which turn up in most recipes.

His burgers lean indulgent and hand-made. The smash burger episode comes with garlic Parmesan truffle fries, the Western bacon cheeseburger gets glazed bacon, homemade barbecue sauce and battered caramelised onion rings, and a one-pan patty melt uses a whole grilled onion and homemade pickles. There is a lamb burger, Nashville hot and buffalo chicken sandwiches brined in buttermilk and pickle juice, an orange chicken sandwich and shorts with Owen Han and Joshua Weissman.
