Matty Matheson
A Toronto chef shouting his way through patty melts, Baconator remakes and game-day sliders.
About Matty Matheson
Matty Matheson is a Canadian chef from Toronto whose loud, profane and affectionate cooking shows made him a star long before he joined The Bear as Neil Fak and as one of its producers. His channel runs Cookin’ Somethin’, a home-kitchen series where the descriptions are written in capital letters and the cooking is serious under the noise.
Burgers are close to his heart, and his own conviction, repeated often, is that the best burgers are simple ones. The channel’s burger episodes include a cheesy burger patty melt with bacon onion jam, a $1,000 A5 wagyu burger against a $2 one, a triple-bacon deluxe that he pitches as better than Wendy’s Baconator, a lemon pepper fried chicken sandwich meant to beat Chick-fil-A, game-day roast beef sliders with a bone marrow jus and a crispy popcorn-mushroom burger.
