About Epic Meal Time

Epic Meal Time started in Montreal in 2010, led by Harley Morenstein, and became one of the first YouTube food shows to go truly viral. The formula was simple and loud: build something absurdly large and calorific, usually wrapped in bacon, keep a running calorie counter on screen and eat the whole thing with the crew.

Burgers were a natural fit. The channel has built a combo out of every fast-food chicken burger it could buy, a burger from 100 White Castle sliders, a six-foot Big Mac, a 250-pound vegan Beyond Big Mac, a fifty-pound McChicken, a giant Krusty Burger from The Simpsons and a burger cooked with a flamethrower. Big Macs have been deep-fried for an hour and eaten six at a time.

Alongside the spectacle ran the Handle It series, where crew members teach an actual recipe, such as stuffed burgers on custom buns, a sushi burger with rice buns or an all-bacon burger, plus taste tests of burgers made from sixteen different animals.
