About emmymade

emmymade is the channel of Emmy Cho, who started it as Emmymade in Japan while living there and brought it home to the United States. Her videos are calm and curious, aimed at what she calls the League of Adventuresome Eaters: odd products, historical recipes, military rations and fast food she has never tried, each tasted with a thoughtful verdict.

Her burger videos cover a lot of ground. The most-watched is a taste test of hamburgers sold in a can, and her Hard Times series recreates budget burgers from lean years, from the Mississippi slugburger to 35-cent cream burgers stretched with sour cream and milk. She has compared the Big Mac and the Whopper, In-N-Out and Five Guys, the Popeyes and Chick-fil-A sandwiches and the Impossible Whopper, tasted McDonald’s in Japan and Canada, recreated regional oddities like the Fluff Screamer, the Jucy Lucy and Brazil’s X-Tudo, and turned a wild mushroom into a Popeyes-style chicken sandwich.
