Chef Jean-Pierre

Chef Jean-Pierre is a French-born chef who spent decades cooking in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, running a restaurant and then a cooking school before bringing his classes to YouTube. His videos open with “Hello there, friends”, and he is known for his cheerful asides, his deep love of butter and his pronunciation of onion as “onyo”.

His burgers are few but characteristic. His perfect smash burger aims to be neat rather than sloppy, with a homemade sauce and caramelised onions, and he recommends making the American cheese and mayonnaise from scratch too. His French cheeseburger adds brie and caramelised onion to beef he grinds himself, and his butter burger video was his first try at the Wisconsin classic.
